The ‘red’ Sydney Explorer bus visits 27 of Sydney’s most famous attractions. You can hop on or off as you please, then simply catch the next bus when it arrives. Each Sydney Explorer is air-conditioned and includes on-board commentary, giving you fascinating insights into the history and culture of Sydney.
 You’ll visit many Sydney landmarks including the Opera House, Royal Botanic Gardens, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, Kings Cross, The Rocks, Darling Harbour and a lot more. In fact this is the only sightseeing bus that travels north of the harbour across the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
On board commentary details the attractions near each bus stop for you to explore at your leisure. Your Explorer ticket also entitles you to fantastic discount offers at a variety of attractions and venues on route.
There’s no need to book, just jump onboard and buy your ticket from the driver. Your Sydney Explorer ticket also entitles you to travel on the Bondi Explorer as well as free travel on regular Sydney Buses (blue travel zone) up to midnight on the same day.
Sydney Explorer Costs
Sydney Explorer tickets are valid for one day unlimited use. Your Sydney Explorer ticket also allows you free travel on all regular Sydney Buses within the Sydney Explorer circular route up to midnight on the same day (excluding travel over the Harbour Bridge).

A child is anyone from the age of 4 to 15.
A family is 2 adults and all children from the same immediate family.
All Day, Every Day
This service can be picked up at any stop along the route at 20-minute intervals. The first departure from Circular Quay is at 8:40am and the last ‘round trip’ is at 5.20pm. The last service will return you to Circular Quay at 7:20pm. You can hop on or off this service at any of the distinctive ‘red’ Explorer bus stops. If you prefer to stay on the bus, the full circuit will take around 2 hours to complete.
